Biology needs builders. UnivaBio brings students worldwide together to build tools that make healthcare smarter, earlier, and more accessible.
About the challenge
UnivaBio is a global student competition open to students aged 13+ hosted collaboratively by BioCataalysis and UnivaDev in support of innovation at the intersection of healthcare and technology.
Theme: Technology for Human Health
Working individually or in teams, participants can build an app, website, simulation, system, or algorithm that helps people detect illness earlier, understand it better, or live with it more easily.
You are encouraged to use AI assistants while building. The goal is to lower the technical barrier so beginners with ambitious ideas can ship something real and explain what they built.

- Students only
- Companies and professional organizations excluded
- All countries and territories, excluding standard exceptions
Submission requirements
- Project with user interaction capabilities
- Demo video showing purpose and functionality
- One-page project description in PDF format
- GitHub repository or code PDF
